Getting to Casa de Los Celtas is, by Costa Rican standards, relatively easy!
We are set 8km (15mins) from the Interamerican Highway passing through the
town of
San Isidro de El General on the road to Rivas and Chirripo.
By car: In San Isidro de El General, don't expect to see road signs on the Interamerican Highway
to Rivas or even Chirripo, there aren't any. However, look for the turn-off at the
supermarket 'Maxi Bodega' (coming from the north and San Jose, after crossing 2 bridges) or the
large
sign 'Centro de Servicio' (before crossing a bridge coming from the south). This is the road to
Casa de Los Celtas and Chirripo. The road is paved and a 4wd vehicle is not necessary.
After approximately 7km -
-
on your left, note a 5-a-side football pitch, exit to Miravalles, then Rancho la Botija
- immediately on your right, La Piedra de Indios - a large rock surrounded by a metal fence
- on your right, at the crest of the hill, you will find Case de los Celtas and enter through a
reddy coloured gateway
